A family emergency sucked up five production days, unleashing a stress, hell ride upon this spirited man and that spirited man right there, mr slace suggested they make an episode about playing catch. Mr slace is the normally invisible, lucky rabbit's foot behind these episodes. He introduced playing catch on set when they were doing an ambitious shoot out there in joshua tree, and this idea, mr slace's idea about making a movie about catch. Well, it was a handy idea, handy for two reasons.
First, this spirited man had recently acquired through legal means, some unfamiliar cameras and lenses. He wanted to try out and maybe learn how to use this behemoth weighs about five pounds. It's the only professional camera in this spirited man's quiver. The wide lens gave the appearance that they were standing far apart.
The goal was to fire the ball right into the lens. The drone imagine what this shot would have cost before the invention of the drone. The drone was a gift gopro, maybe the best thing to happen to homemade filmmaking since the imac dv back in 2000, they tried to simulate the ball's path through the air with the gopro, but uh didn't really work too much spin. There was something giddy about throwing a camera across the field, though iphone 12 pro head gray.
Who does our music shoot the footwork there? He is there's gray this camera. This insta 360 is a sort of miracle gadget with two hemispherical lenses that shoot the entire universe. All at once, by horsing around with the insta360 and some free software, this spirited man was indeed able to simulate the baseball's flight, the shot they failed to get with the gopro. The second thing that made this idea, mr slace's idea for a movie about playing catch.
The second thing that made this idea, a handy idea, is that playing catch is fun even in your mid-40s playing catch for an hour or so relieved. The stress of the vanished five production days so simple, so beautiful the snap, the achievable, fraternal goals of the perfect, throw and the perfect catch dodgers even won the world series last year. Thank you, mr slace. It worked onward.
You.
might be my fav video yet. So simple. So fun. Drone shots with your shadows and the 360 camera throw was amazing. More ideas from slace please!
Wtf…did I just watch a Pixar short film because that was a lot of emotion packed into <5 min (⊙o⊙)
I still don’t get how they got the shot? They threw the camera so how was the ball there too? Did they throw them both at once?
Van, your videos're creating some special creative impulses in my mind, thank you🙌
I love your channel and your videos… but I highly question your taste in baseball teams. The Dodgers??? Really??? Everybody knows (outside of L.A.) that the SF Giants are a much better organization. Which team has won 3 World Series within the last 20 years? The Giants. Which team has more retired numbers? The Giants. Which team plays in a far more beautiful ballpark? The Giants. And while the Dodgers may have won more pennants (24) to the Giants (23)… the Giants have won more World Series (8) to to L.A.'s pathetic 7 wins (one of those during the pandemic… did that one even count… and was anyone even watching???). AND… which team is in first place right now??? THE SF GIANTS, BABY!!!
Each to their own, however, how someone presses a thumbs down button on such a genius and intuitive film is beyond me. Brilliant
This makes me wish I would have kept my glove….it lived at my childhood home until recently
Could someone tell me what music is used in his videos? Does he make it himself? If so, please atleast tell me there is a genre connected to it!
I make things and am (or, should I say, have been, chronically) terrified to share. It's easier for me to read poetry to a room full of strangers, easier to show people my paintings, easier even to cry most times in front of others than it is for me to muster the "do it" needed to post something I'm not good at yet.
You have helped to turn that fear into fuel; my hesitance is now tinder for the fire that keeps my sprit warm, and I'll be damned if I don't share that warmth.
Thank you. Thank you so very much. Wado ("thank you" in Cherokee).
It’s funny how on paper you’re story ideas could look/sound lame …
But your work is art and and so relatable humouring and very well scripted /shot and put together always
I just shot something at that same location in Joshua Tree! What did you guys shoot there? That place is amazing!
