Your goal in giving a present and giving a gift is to make the receiver cry. That is your goal. The best gifts are nice, made and thoughtful, but any two will be a good gift. By made I mean your hand is in it.

It's customized in some way, dating or monogramming. The gift gives the gift extra power. I Encourage you to own a Dremel engraver or an electric engraver and own some kind of wood burner and then you can just engrave basically anything. The wood burner is for wood and plastic and the engraver is for just about everything, even glass if you're careful.

Generally speaking, getting a good present takes two days one day to Rack your brain, then sleep on it, then the next day to get the Epiphany and execute the gift.

Two days. Put a moon between the idea and the execution of the idea. Thank you moon.

As an avid gift giver, I can confirm these gift giving rules. Every gift that I’ve given that has at least 2 of the 3 has gotten the most genuine expression of gratitude.

A good gift is something what the receiver would really like but he would never buy it himself.

my approach is making random or thoughtful gifts to people i love at random times, ignoring birthdays and holidays. Handdrawn and handwritten cards though may be an exception. Sometimes it's even hard to believe how easy and fun they are in the making and how much appreciation they get.

Somehow learning about Van's and other people's ways with gifts makes me feel cheerful. It's such a peculiar topic.

Woodwork, dance video, more time together, opening up, anything can be a gift.

I hope this video will blow up and in a few months I'll be able to revisit it and explore comments with more stories
