I am going to talk about the gopro 10 in this one, but first you should know what it is. I look for in a camera. These are some of the cameras i've acquired over the past 16 years. I've thrown away the ones that require tapes.
I have two main types in my arsenal: big ones, which i call studio, cameras and little ones, which i call sidearms or pocket cameras. The gopro is a pocket camera we'll talk about the studio cameras some other time. What do i look for in a pocket camera? It's got ta be able to shoot in whatever the current ubiquitous format is and right now, that's 4k goodbye go 2 goodbye, olympus stylus from 2008. goodbye canon tx1, but man look.
How beautiful she is. The canon sd870 shoots only in 640 resolution, but we're gon na hold on to this one for just a second, the second criterion, and sometimes this trumps. The 4k requirement is that it's easy to use. How careless can i be with it? The worst example of easy to use is the iphone what a nightmare got: ta open the phone face, recognition almost never works, there's a way to quickly open the camera, but i don't remember it sweet camera's open now just got ta set it to video, then 4k.
Then 24 frames per second and the iphone camera is for emergencies. Only it's a backup, i'm not smart enough for the insta 360. yeah. It's incredible, but i'm too impatient to figure out how to download and use the footage - and that's that's on me so here's my gal gopro, eight black, gifted to me by my youtuber brother.
Why did i paint the araflex logo on it, because this auraflex was kubrick's favorite camera and this gopro is my current favorite, but i do have one minor complaint about her about the hero8 black and it's well. Let me just show you why my last favorite pocket camera was my favorite pocket camera for 14 years now watch how fast the canon sd870 goes from off to shooting power, shooting power shooting. Okay, now the gopro 8.. The shooting button turns it on.
So here goes power recording about four seconds: okay, sure it's less than two seconds slower, but it's also nearly twice as long for what you get. Of course, it's worth it, maybe it's my favorite camera of all time. What you're on your motorcycle? Do you want a better bag for that? I was thinking, it'd be funnier to just try to do it in this. So i get the call from my brother gopro sent him a 10.
casey said i could borrow it, but the way he said borrow was vague. Thank you very much casey. Thank you very much gopro, but uh. What's with the big box, what's in the box, is it explosive? Can i get it wet? Yes and yes, i'm guessing gopro sent these rc boats to the more popular gopro users like casey neistat.
The idea is to mount the gopro 10 to the rc boat and zip it around the lake, while recording supposed to demonstrate the tens image stabilizer and horizon lock. Okay, you ready okay, the boat was a little faster than we expected already capsized. I flipped over buddy - i don't know okay and this. This is why i must insist that my camera be easy to use. Now, i'm managing a toy boat, a swan boat, a kid and water. Look at this footage. The boat is violently slapping through the water, but the camera looks like it's on rails again, the stabilization and horizon lock are perfect all right. Well, how fast is she power? Shooting congratulations! Kid! You got the job, but casey's.
Probably never gon na see you again.
Van not using the convenient little camera button on the bottom right of the screen and proceeding to open his phone and navigate to the camera app kills me LMAO
As a cyclist, I just saw you do something that many parents do; Put your very young kid on your bike as you ride. SERIOUS problem – kid wearing helmet = Good. You NOT wearing helmet = VERY bad. Why? 2 reasons; 1) Sends message to kid that when they reach certain age, it will be ok to ditch the helmet. 2) More importantly (God forbid) if you crash/fall, etc and smash your head (and…providing some miracle the kid doesn't suffer injuries) unable to respond. Is the kid able to call (911 maybe) for help? Maybe this is just an oversight on your part. I can tell by watching your videos, you always try to do the right thing and are concerned with safety. So, I hope you'll understand where I'm coming from.
That being said…your videos are always great and I enjoy them. I'm an Osmo Action guy but after seeing this video, I will take a closer look at the GP 10. Thanks, again and safe(ty) travels.
I don't need it, I can't justify it, I still have a Hero 5 black that works great… Still want one. That stabilization was amazing.
No hate but i can turn on my iphone camera and set it to 4k in 5 sec. Just press the camerabutton to the right in the locket screen. But hey, i will not be the only one who will tell you that 😀
This Spirited Man speaks my language. Thank you Van. Thank you for normalizing self reliance and a kind soul.
Thank you.
I'm a big fan of casey Neistat but if van Neistat keep uploading videos daily like these not daily but 4 in a week then I'm sure I'm in love with van Neistat van i want to open my YouTube channel with so much creativity I've this creativity but i haven't anything too start i have just a poco m3 mobile Android it records 1080 60fps is it okay and 4k 30fps please inspire me to do something great like you and your brother
man van should explore iphone settings… accessibility>back tap>camera… camera>preserve settings>camera mode… camera>record video>4k24
You can launch the iphone camera (with 4K 24) in about 2 seconds. You acting like it's difficult to do is absurd. Just say you don't like using the iphone camera, that's fine.
The iPhone is quicker than all of those at about 1 second IF u set ur default video setting to 4K 24 frames and then swipe from the right or hit the cam button on the Lock Screen. Between that and selecting video it’s only two swipes, one if you just u preserve settings and it will open the last used mode. Plus no Face ID needed. That’s what I do and it’s quick quick! Tho the GoPro def wins in boat videos and the like. I would never trust my phone with that. Love the videos btw. 🙏🏽💜
